I’m so glad you found your way here. Reaching out for support can feel daunting - you’re not alone in that feeling.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA #MC.61570887 ) serving adult individuals in the greater Seattle area and throughout Washington State. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University in 2024.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and feel grateful to call this place home. Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than a decade working in the corporate marketing space. My own experiences with major transitions, grief and loss, and the profound shifts with becoming a parent led me toward work that feels more aligned with who I am: someone who finds deep meaning in sitting with people in the real, complex, and messy parts of being human.
If you’re thinking we may be a good fit or are feeling curious, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. No commitment or pressure, just to see if it’s a fit.
Meet the Therapist: Melissa Filion
My Approach
My approach to therapy is relational, attachment-based, and humanistic, informed by a feminist lens.
In our work together, you can expect a warm, steady, and grounded presence. I will meet you wherever you’re at with care, curiosity, and compassion to co-create a space where you feel comfortable to bring it all and release the pressure to be okay.
I believe that much of the harm and pain we experience happens in relationship, and that our healing often happens in relationship too - in the therapeutic one, and in the one with yourself.
No one knows you better than you. I honor your expertise, and also believe we can benefit from someone joining us in our experience and offering reflection and helping to identify and challenge patterns that may not be serving us.
Together we will work to increase insight and understanding about yourself, improve self-compassion, and create more connected relationships with yourself and your loved ones.
